Primrose Hill Restaurants: 7 Places The Locals Love

This post is part of our archived content. While we’ve shifted focus, it still may be useful.

Visiting Primrose Hill for the first time?

The area is famous for celeb spotting and being home to some of London’s tastiest food and drinks.

Regents Park Road, the de facto heart of Primrose Hill and its bordering streets, has lively bars, alluring pubs and chic cafeterias.

If you’ve spent the day exploring Camden Town, end your day in Primrose Hill for a meal as fancy as your budget allows.

Here are some of our favourite Primrose Hill restaurants:

Greenberry Café

101 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UR

One of my favourite places to have brunch in Primrose Hill is the bistro-style restaurant Greenberry Café.

Greenberry Café has an extensive spread of breakfast, brunch and lunch menu options, from egg dishes to crab on sourdough. You’ll be tempted to come back for more.

For lunch and dinner, try Chalk stream trout, potatoes, sea bream ceviche, miso-glazed aubergines, samphire or gnocchi with prawns, clams, and Datterini tomatoes.

The restaurant adopts global inspiration from kitchens across the world.

Their colourful spectrum of wellness lattes and vegetarian dishes make it a favourite among locals.

Greenberry Café’s interior features carefully curated rustic designs like the long American oak bar and alfresco tables.

Lemonia

89 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UY

If you fancy fun, traditional and tasty Greek food in Primrose Hill, you need to visit Lemonia.

The Moussaka and Spanakopita are must-tries, the staff are ridiculously friendly and the vine-covered interior brings a taste of Greece to north London.

Established in 1979, Lemonia is almost the oldest restaurant in Primrose Hill.

Heavily patronized and rated by celebrities like Kate Moss, this family-run Greek eatery is a local favourite.

Lemonia’s chefs cook up a storm with the finest dining ingredients and fresh produce from the farm and trusted suppliers.

Top tip: Feel like you’re on the bustling streets of Greece with the grilled halloumi or spicy tzatziki.

Oddette’s

130 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8XL

Run by Chef Patron Bryn William since the doors opened in 1978, Oddette’s is one of Primrose Hill’s original dining rooms.

Garnering top reviews on platforms like Trip Advisor, Opentable and Google, Chef Patron’s dishes have earned the restaurant a coveted Michelin Star.

Lunch draws inspiration from Chef William’s Heritage with European and British dishes.

The menu changes on a weekly basis, while the a la carte menu changes seasonally, and always features fresh produce.

Eat in Oddette’s walled ‘secret garden’ or the classic dining room depending on the mood of your meal.

Melt-in-the-mouth dishes Stone Bass with Artichoke and Borlotti Beans and Leek with Potato and Truffle are among our favourites on Oddette’s menu as they have a depth of flavour and skilful execution.

Oka

71 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8UY

Oka does Asian cuisine with flair and an aroma that you will fall in love with!

With several outposts around London, the restaurants occupy some of the best locations in the city and regularly draw in diners with their quality cooking.

We love their Japanese Robata grill and sushi plates.

Diners also love the tempura options and you absolutely should give it a try on your visit.

Wash it all down with a cold Asahi and your stomach will dance for joy.

Manna London

4 Erskine Rd, London NW3 3AJ

Manna is a long-time delight serving some of the best vegan food in Primrose Hill.

They’re something of an institution as they’ve been making delicious dishes for over 50 years.

Manna was a vegetarian restaurant, but since 2008, it has been fully vegan.

Overseen by the Executive Chef And founder Robin Swallow, Manna has a carefully selected multi-ethnic menu of creative meals.

You’ll find twists on dishes like Bangers and Mash made with fennel and pumpkin seed sausages and Raw Tacos with lettuce leaf shells.

Every meal is carefully packed with flavour and homeliness. A home away from home indeed!

La Collina

17 Princess Rd, London NW1 8JR

The best place to find original northern Italian cuisine is at La Collina.

Managed by husband and wife duo Diana Rinaldo and Patrick Oberto, it’s a bistro-style restaurant with a joyful burst of flavours, a minimal setting and a careful selection of wine to embrace your taste buds.

Meals like Pasta are made from scratch and form the base for deserving dishes like Orecchiette with Salsiccia and Broccoli and Homemade Pappardelle with Wild Mushrooms and Black Truffles.

Don’t leave without having the Tiramisu for dessert.

Ripe Kitchen

136 Regent’s Park Rd, London NW1 8XL

Brunch rings a timely bell for a visit to Ripe Kitchen. You’ll find the best selections of a classic brunch menu such as the classic avocado on toast, scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.

Cooked with love from locally farm-sourced ingredients, Ripe Kitchen offers a dining experience beyond fancy interiors and lights.

Try the sandwiches, baguettes and toasties for lunch.

Their yummy cakes and ludicrously tasty desserts will tempt you to swipe your card for takeaway.

If you’re looking for the best in Primrose Hill restaurants, try any of these seven.

You won’t be disappointed.
