Summer fun at the museum includes:

Hetty Feather & Rose Rivers Day: Art Workshop

  • 10:30-16:45 | Free with Museum admission

Drop in to our free, artist-led workshops to celebrate Jacqueline Wilson’s new book, Rose Rivers. Inspired by the bangles Rose gives to her friends Hetty and Clover, make your own friendship bracelets and charms to fit onto them. Pick which character you’d like to make your bracelet for, and let your creativity flow. Workshops run throughout the day and are drop-in. No booking needed.

Casting Memories

Inspired by Jodie Carey’s monumental installation Sea and the Foundling Hospital fabric tokens, explore ideas of identity in this fun workshop. Led by Sculpture Lab, create a series of plaster casts using scraps of found clothing. Suitable for age 5+. Book a session on the day. Free for children and up to two accompanying adults.

Sculpting Identity

  • Sessions run 11:00-12:30, 13:15-14:45 & 15:00-16:30

Create a colourful sculpture inspired by Yinka Shonibare MBE’s Trumpet Boy. Using found objects, fabric and modelling materials build a sculpture that reflects your heritage, interests and identity. Suitable for age 5+. Book a session on the day. Free for children and up to two accompanying adults.
