Review: Pizza Express Live, Greenwich
By Ryan Panchoo of Borough 22
As an average working parent, nights out on the town are few and far between, take meticulous planning and are anticipated as much, if not more so, than the next family holiday.
The chance to eat out sans kids hardly comes up so I jumped at the chance to go and review the new Pizza Express Live venue down the road from where we live in London, Greenwich.
The restaurant has been completely refurbished including the Live dining experience in the basement which can also be hired for private functions or one of the famous Pizza Express pizza-making parties. The setting is intimate and would make for a great date night venue.
The artist on the bill during my visit was the talented Darren Campbell. He set the tone perfectly with a Live Playlist of modern and classic hits that we were able to sing along to but that also allowed the conversation, as well as the Merlot, to flow!
I also got to sample some of the newly updated Autumn/Winter menu including the new Campana pizza - crumbled pork & fennel sausage, friarielli, tomato, garlic oil and mozzarella, finished with Gran Milano cheese – a symphony on my plate. For dessert I had the Sticky Toffee Bundt Cake which was. To. Die. For. Ever a forerunner in free from dining, Pizza Express also has plenty of Coeliac UK Accredited options.
All in all, it was a great night out and I will definitely be back. To find out more head over to Pizza Express on Greenwich's Church Street. Who knows, we may see you down there.
