WONDERFUL TREATS AFTERNOON TEA
In celebration of the V&A exhibition, ’Wonderful Things’ – all about the fantastical works of British fashion photographer Tim Walker – The Franklin Hotel has launched a kaleidoscopic gourmet afternoon tea.
Designed in partnership with luxury event planners, La Fête, the afternoon tea pays homage to the V&A’s curation of Walker’s visionary world of fashion, portraiture and food, combined with quintessentially British accents of a favourite national gourmet pastime.
This afternoon tea is unlike any other – you’ll experience a culinary feast, extravagant staging, cues of romance and a sprinkling of alluring dark beauty.
Presented in delicately tiered bird cages, each beautifully crafted piece from the afternoon tea menu tells a magical story inviting you on multiple sensory journeys.
Taking inspiration from fairy tale themes and notions of ‘wonder’ the new afternoon tea will include; lobster filled black buns, twisted trees adorned with chocolate and yuzu macaroons, and other-wordly nests of kataifi pasta with micro salad, ricotta cheese and ‘honeygrette’.
There are also glass domes of gravity-defying meringue, chocolate and pistachio upside-down cones with faux ice cream and a tantalising sloe gin-based, lavender-infused libation.
Served in the refined setting of The Franklin Restaurant by Alfredo Russo, enjoy being tucked away in The Franklin London’s gourmet hideaway, an elegant Knightsbridge townhouse situ with interiors designed by Anouska Hempel.
Wonderful Treats Afternoon Tea at The Franklin Restaurant by Alfredo Russo including tickets to Wonderful Things at the V&A costs £65 per person, (price includes one glass of Champagne).
Afternoon tea only with bottomless tea costs £40 per person.
