FUNHARMONICS ZOG CONCERT
The full force of the London Philharmonic Orchestra takes to the Royal Festival Hall stage for a live concert performance of Zog, the most recent animated film from Magic Light Pictures.
The animation of Zog, based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s picture book, will be projected onto a big screen as the LPO performs René Aubry’s score.
The story of Zog follows the adventures of the eager but accident-prone young dragon and the short animation features an all-star voiceover cast including Kit Harington, Rob Brydon and Lenny Henry.
Presented by Polly Ives and conducted by Tim Murray, the concert will also include other orchestral pieces and an introduction to the instruments of the Orchestra, as well as songs for the audience to join in with the LPO.
In addition to the concert, the LPO also present free hands-on activities around the building between 10 am and 12 pm.
Children with a concert ticket aged 6+ can ‘have a go’ at different orchestral instruments under expert instruction, take part in a singing workshop, or get creative with drop-in arts and crafts activities on the Clore Ballroom.
The LPO – widely regarded as one of the world’s finest orchestras working on the international stage – has brought the wonder of orchestral music to children for decades through its FUNharmonics concerts.
These much-loved, hour long concerts offer an engaging and fun introduction to classical music for children aged 6 and over.
