TOFT Workshop

Join the TOFT team for a unique crochet workshop and tour of the Museum’s back of house tank room guided by one of their knowledgeable Science Educators.

In this unique workshop you will use Kerry Lord’s new mini kit to make a mini version of the giant squid. You will be given everything you need to make your mini squid – the wool, stuffing, crochet hook, sewing up accessories and a pattern, as well as expert tuition.

The TOFT team will be on-hand for any troubleshooting during the workshop, where you will learn how to read a crochet pattern, how to start and finish each body part and how to sew them all together to complete the design.

On your 15 minute tour of the tank room you’ll meet Archie, the Museum’s 8.62-metre-long giant squid and view specimens collected by Charles Darwin. Light refreshments are also included in the workshop.

After booking, please email after-hours@nhm.ac.uk to select a time slot. Please note that choices are on a first come first serve basis and are limited to 10 people per tour.

Tickets: £45 per person.
